SUBJECT: REJECTION OF YAOUNDÉ’S DECEPTIVE NARRATIVES
AND REAFFIRMATION OF THE ASA MISSION
The Government of the Federal Republic of Southern Cameroons, Ambazonia firmly denounces what it describes as a recent wave of state-sponsored disinformation intended to discredit the Ambazonian State Army (ASA). We call on the people of Ambazonia and members of the international community to scrutinize and reject narratives that, in our view, misrepresent realities on the ground and undermine the ongoing struggle.
Key Clarifications:
- Defending the People:
The ASA continues to present itself as the defense force of Southern Cameroons, committed to protecting the lives and property of civilians amid the continuing conflict and instability affecting the territory. - Infiltration and Criminality:
According to reports received by our authorities, individuals allegedly linked to La République du Cameroun have impersonated ASA personnel in kidnappings and extortion activities. These incidents are described as attempts to discredit resistance forces and justify further military actions. - Political War, Not a “Community” Issue:
We reject attempts to portray the conflict as merely a localized or communal dispute. Our position remains that the crisis concerns political selfdetermination and liberation rather than inter-community confrontation. - Zero Tolerance for Criminality:
The Government of the Federal Republic of Ambazonia maintains a stated policy of zero tolerance for acts of ransom-taking, intimidation, or harassment of civilians. No individuals engaging in such conduct, we maintain, do not represent the ASA or its mission.
The struggle for the restoration of independence continues, and we call for unity among our people in the face of what we view as attempts to divide communities through misinformation and fear.
